Three lawmakers from different parties and the spiritual leader of the Bulgarian Muslims have been agents of Communist secret services in Bulgaria, an erstwhile country in the Soviet block.
Yunal Lutfi from the predominantly ethnic Turksih Movement for Rights and Freedom (MRF), Petar Beron from the nationalist ‘Ataka’ party and Krasimir Karakahanov, head of the VMRO party, as well as present chief mufti Mustafa Hadji have collaborated with the dreaded Committee of State Security, the umbrella organization of the Communist security services, the Interior Minister disclosed

He was responding to an inquiry by a TV journalist from a private channel about possible links of 47 politicians and public figures to the former State Security.
