On Friday, a loud explosion was heard inside the American Embassy building in Athens, capital of Greece. It is among the best-guarded buildings in the Greek Capital.
The explosion shredded through the compound of the US embassy but until the last report there was no any injury in the blast. According to the officials, they are not ruling out any terrorist conspiracy in this blast.
The well-guarded building is surrounded by a 3-metre (9-feet)-high steel fence. Guards are posted at every entrance and at street corners around this building.
Later the Greek police have sealed off Athens’ one main avenues on Friday. The Greek police swung into action after the blast and four fire engines rushed to the site. The report said that the embassy’s first floor has been struck because of the explosion.
It is also being said that the al-Qaeda is behind the blast and the reaction of hanging Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
The authorities are looking whether the bob was planted inside the premise or if it was the result of a rocket propelled from a moving vehicle, aimed towards the embassy.
The authorities are trying to get some clues from the security cameras. The sniffer dogs have also been rushed to the place of blast with investigating authorities.
