Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has emerged unscathed as the US evangelist Pat Robinson has apologised for calling for the assassination of Chavez. Earlier, Robinson had denied of making any such comment. “I didm’t say assassination. I said out special forces should ‘take him out’”, he said on his TV show.
On his webside, Robinson posted: ” Is it right to call for assassination. No, and I apologise for that statement. I spoke in frustration that we should accomodate a man who thinks the US is out to kill him”.
Chavez, whose country is the world’s fifth largest oil exporter has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of US President George W Bush in league with the Cuba’s Fiedel Castro.
