The prestigious US magazine “Foreign Affairs” in its September/October 2005 has carried an article by F. Gregery Gause III “Can Democracy Stop Terrorism”. The same magazine has another related article by Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and George W. Downs “Development and Democracy”. Both articles argue that there is a grave risk of terrorists using the lofty platform of democracy. Pakistan President General Perwez Musharraf too blackmails the US by advancing the same argument that religious fanatics will come to the power by using democracy. Fareed Zakaria, a noted columnist of the Newsweek has already advanced the same argument in his book “Future of Freedom”.
It seems that Islam and democracy are incompatible. No religion including Islam teaches hatred for followers of other religions but the interpretators of the Quran and the Hadith have put up Islam as a religion with no room for tolerance.

You rightfully understand that it is the interpreter who is the source of the problem yet you say that Islam and democracy seem to be incompatible. I could have agreed with you had you written that the current interpretation of Islam is not compatible with democracy. It is the interpretation that is causing the problem.
Islam cannout tolerate other religiions, since it is the fundamental teachings of islam. If one likes to see it, just watch what the Sistani groups have to say. Kafirs (people except muslims) are impure and have to hate them !! And rightfully he is interpreting islam quoting Quran !! So nothing can stop this by any moderate muslim.

Islam is finality and perfection as reason because Muslims own the best environment on earth.
