Pakistani forces claim to have killed an Egyptian al Qaeda terrorist wanted by the United States over the 1998 American Embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya. Mohsin Musa Matawalli Atwah, 45, was killed late Wednesday in a Pakistani military raid led by helicopter gunships, on a hideout in the remote North Waziristan village of Naghar Kalai, near the Afghan border.
It is indeed a success for the Pakistani rulers who are fighting the war on terrorism, led by the US. In a country such as Pakistan which earned the notoriety in the past as a rogue country for harbouring terrorists and encouraging the terrorist export-import business on a large scale, though sometimes at the behest of the USA, it is a major achievement to eliminate another dreaded terrorist, carrying a cash reward of substantial amount on his head.
In fact, Pakistan has been caught in Catch-22 situation. It seems impossible for him to discard the terrorists and their mentors in the religious cover which the state pampered for a long period. The population, fed on religious dogmas too cannot be expected to support the government and the State in its endeavour to eliminate the scourge of terrorism from the Pakistani soil. Braving all these odds against them, the present Pakistani regime is credited with eliminating terrorists on its soil.
Kudos to the Present Pakistani Regime
