When the anti-Muslim sentiments are running high in the western hemisphere, caused by unraveling terror plots and radical-Islamic face of global terror forces led by Al Qaeda, a stage managed London conference by Hizb ut-Tahrir, a fundamentalist Islamic grouping advocating reestablishment of caliphate world over, is sure to create a shiver in the western spine. The defense of radical Islam and that too on the soil of Britain, the most recent target of Islam affiliated terror forces is certain to deepen the theory of clash of civilization.
Hizb ut-Tahrir, an international radical Islamic party in its well stage-managed London conference attended by thousand relatively prosperous Muslims launching a frontal attack on the west assailed everything that the public of Europe and America hate to listen. It blasted the western democratic credentials and argued for establishing the old caliphate system in the Muslim world amalgamating both political and temporal powers into one. Hizb ut-Tahrir called for destruction of Israel and attack on all western interests in the Middle East.
The London conference of Hizb ut-Tahrir, though attracted a largely professional listeners like IT managers, bankers, teachers and doctors, its impact on them looks distorted. The Muslims living in the UK are already a target of hate campaign and certainly not to get trapped by radical preaching fearing their livelihood in Britain. But, the hatred campaign unleashed by the group at a moment when terror attacks loom large after the botched plots in London and Glasgow is sure to widen the gulf between the British and the Muslim migrants.
The conference is also symbol of growing Muslim disenchantment with so-called Islamophobia rooting in the western mind. But their direct challenge to the west doesn’t augur well for the humanity when the terror groups are exploiting the Islam. The conference was basically focused on political aspects of the Muslim world and measurably failed to distinguish itself from the same agenda followed by the terror forces. Its rhetoric did not show enough concern for the social and economic prosperity of the Muslims world over and stem the growth of terror antecedents in the Islamic world.
