More than sixty persons are feared dead in three simultaneous bomb blasts at three places in New Delhi, the capital of India at 17.45 (Indian Standard Time) on Satuday (Oct. 29). Scores of injured have been admitted to various hospitals. The Police claimed to have thwarted another bomb explosion inside a bank at Chandni Chowk in Central Delhi. The number of casualties is expected to rise. Only preliminary informations are available at the time of writing this post.

Intelligence agencies were apprehensive of such incidents at the hand of Islamic terrorists as a local court was scheduled to announce judgement in another case of terrorists’ activities in which Islamic terrorists had succeeded in entering Lalkila. These terrorists belonged to the banned organisation Lashkar-e-T0iba (LeT).

The explosions in a series took place, just minutes after breaking the day’s fast during the pious month of Ramadan. At the same time, people had thronged the markets for the purchase during the coming important festival of Deepawli, celeberated with gusto by the majority Hindu community.
