Osama Bin Laden’s favourite son, Hamza bin Laden,14, is following in his father’s bloody footsteps.
He was shown on a video on Islamic websites recently. He is clutching a semi-automatic assault rifle, a smaller version of the Kalashnikov, as he joins in an al-Qaeda attack on Pakistani soldiers in the south Waziristan tribal agency region on on the Afghanistan border.
The weapon held by Hamza - the most loved of the 27 children of Bin Laden, - is a Kalakov machine-gun, a mini version of the Kalashnikov.
Hamza is the second son of Osama bin Laden. The eldest son is Saad bin Laden. Osama bin Laden has a total of 27 children from at least four wives. Perhaps, for Osama, ‘wife’ is acronym for ‘wonderful instrument for enjoyment’.
Osma bin Laden is reported to have been a devoted father during his time in Kandahar, taking his sons hunting, and riding, teaching them how to shoot and sending them out with the Taliban to take part in military offensives against the Northern Alliance. In turn, his sons reportedly doted on their father, often standing guard over him as he slept.
On the other hand,Osama’s niece Wafah Dufour,26,( daughter of his half-brother Yeslam) has chosen a more
peaceful path - she has embarked on a career as a pop singer in New York. She has preferred to take risk of inviting wrath of Osama, the most-wanted man and a byword for terrorism and zealotry. Her tentalizing photographs have been published in the January issue of GQ magazine. ‘Everyone relates me to that man, and I have nothing to do with him’, said Dufour in the GQ article.
