Retired Police officer shot dead in India

Mr Hesso Mao, former Director General of Police of Nagaland, a strife-torn border province in India, was shot dead by unidentified armed men at his residence on Tuesday (Nov. 09) evening. Five persons entered the house of Hesso Mao at Police Reserve Colony and demanded Rs ten lakh but when the retired DGP refused to pay, he was shot at from a point blank range. Profusely bleeding Mao was immediately rushed to a private nursing home, where he passed away after a few hours.
